Visualising Jet Blast

Sometimes circumstances align to create a video that gives a perfect opportunity to see something that is usually not visible. In this case, it was a good dusting of dry snow, an aircraft parking in the right spot near a guy in the terminal also in the right spot at the right time.

Jet blast and prop-wash awareness is essential for airside workers and while most of us cover it in airside induction training or airside driver training, static pictures can’t always give clear idea of what happens behind an aircraft as it moves.

This video does this and also gives a few little clues of the impact of surface wind.

*** UPDATE: I had linked to a post by someone who had ripped off this guys video. It had been removed and after a little hunting around I found (I hope) the original ***
